Problem

The customer needed to make a clean 3/8″ asphalt chip without washing, due to limited access to water and slurry ponds at various locations.  (photo is a stationary 6’x12′)

Solution

  • Invested in a TCI 6×12 single deck portable screening plant.
  • Fed 3/8″ minus material from a horizontal screen to the TCI high-frequency screen.
  • Screened the material on a #8 (3/32″) mesh.
  • The overs (#8 x 3/8″) produced an in-spec asphalt chip.
  • The fines (minus #8) were sold as aglime, eliminating the need for slurry ponds.
